Experts and cultural professionals from Poland, France and Germany present proposals for a human-centered approach to generative AI as part of the Polish Council Presidency.
From June 19 to 21, 2025, 20 experts and representatives from the fields of art, culture, media and law discussed the implications of generative artificial intelligence (AI) for culture, democracy, civil rights and copyright from cultural and media-specific perspectives at the Genshagen Cultural Policy Forum with a focus on the Weimar Triangle (France, Poland and Germany). The question of Europe's digital sovereignty is of central importance for the current discourse in this field. It was addressed as a key challenge at the forum.
The rapid development of generative AI, which is currently taking place primarily in commercial areas, raises urgent questions about ethical and human-centered technological development. The cultural, creative and media sectors are particularly affected by the consequences of generative AI. The effects can be observed in all areas of society, particularly in the context of democracy and civil rights.
The proposals were presented at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Berlin on June 24, 2025. Below you will find the proposals in English. Translations into Polish and French will follow in the next few days.
